What a great start to the new school year...the students are excited and eager to get going and I am excited, too, and ready to challenge the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
We had our first lab in science and everything went well. The pictures show the determination on the faces of the students working be the greatest scientists! They are worked hard at staying on task and getting through the lab activity and then writing a lab report. I am very happy with the enthusiasm and the cooperation of every student.
The 8th grade algebra students are ready to take their first test on Thursday and I am confident they will do well as they have accepted the challenge taking honors algebra this year. If any student needs extra help I am encouraging them to come in before school, as I am always here early.
The 7th graders have grown up so much over the summer. They seem ready to get down to the business of problem solving and pre-algebra.
The struggle continues with the 6th graders to keep their lockers organized in order to find everything they need quickly for their next class. A locker mate may be added to the supply list for next year. They, too, are a great group of students and so happy to be in middle school. Their enthusiasm is delightful, but, at times, needing to be harnessed.
Thanks to all parishioners and students who made our "move in" day so successful. I really appreciate all the help I had. |
