KINDERGARTEN:
Students continue to learn the words for classroom objects. Today they drew pictures to reinforce the new vocabulary. They also did some silly dancing.
1ST GRADE:
Students were continued to practice their new words for classroom items. They learned a new song today:
CLASSROOM OBJECTS SONG (to the tune of "the farmer in the Dell")
A silla is a chair, a libro is a book, a mesa is a table in our classroom.
A lápiz is a pencil, tijeras are scissors, a borrador is an eraser in our classroom.
They also cut out flashcards to keep in class and use for practice.
2ND GRADE:
Students received a new vocabulary list today. It is over classroom objects. They practiced pronunciation and spelling.
3RD GRADE:
The assignment due today was to translate Spanish sentences into English. Students checked their sentences for review before learning the words for 40 and 50. There was no homework.
4TH GRADE:
Students reviewed hair color today by describing their classmates’ hair. Their new homework is a crossword on color words. It is due on Feb. 13.
5TH GRADE:
Students checked their homework over indefinite articles and then reviewed both definite and indefinite articles by translating sentences from English to Spanish. They also began a new unit over occupations. They received a new vocabulary list and began to define it. There was no homework.
6TH GRADE:
Students checked their homework on indefinite articles. They worked on writing phrased that contained articles practice in class. There was no homework.
7TH GRADE:
Students finished defining the new vocabulary list on adjectives. They orally described their classmates’ hair and eyes. There was no homework.
8TH GRADE:
Students checked their work on on –ar verb conjugation. They were given 15 sentences to translate from English to Spanish. Each reviews one of their 3 syntaxes they have learned: declarative, negative or interrogative. They are due on Feb. 13. The 15 syntaxes are listed below:
- I rent a movie.
- We wait 5 minutes.
- He calls the girl.
- You (pl.) watch tv.
- Mrs. hence works today.
- Does the boy celebrate Christmas?
- Do you (s.) dance the tango?
- Does Maria practice soccer?
- Do you (pl.) sing in Spanish?
10. Do I drive the car?
11. I do not kiss my dog.
12. We do not listen to Mrs. Henke.
13. Jose does not play the guitar.
14. You (pl.) do not wear uniforms.
